TOM BRECHTLEIN
Born and raised in Long Island, New York, as a teenager, world-renowned drummer Tom Brechtlein turned his attention from ’60s rock bands to big-band jazz. Then, at the age of 18, he saw Chick Corea and Return to Forever on television and vowed he would one day play with him. Two years later, in 1978, he joined Chick Corea and their musical collaboration and friendship has continued for more than 40 years. The list of incredible artists Brechtlein has played with includes Wayne Shorter, Al Di Meola, Joe Farrell, Jean-Luc Ponty, Robben Ford, Rickie Lee Jones, Kenny Loggins, Eric Johnson and the Manhattan Transfer.
