Four-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist Stanley Clarke is widely regarded as one of the most celebrated acoustic and electric bass players in the world. His legendary career includes founding the groundbreaking jazz-rock fusion group Return to Forever with Chick Corea.
Stanley’s artistry in jazz, as well as in film and TV scores, has been honored in every way imaginable: Gold and Platinum records, multiple Grammy Awards and several Emmy nominations. He received Bass Player magazine’s Lifetime Achievement Award and is a member of Guitar Player magazine’s “Gallery of Greats.” He has been voted Best Electric Bass Player in both DownBeat magazine’s Readers’ and Critics’ Polls numerous times.
In 2011, he received the prestigious Miles Davis Award for his overall body of work and, in 2022, he received the NEA Jazz Masters Fellowship from the National Endowment of the Arts, the highest honor the US bestows on jazz artists.
