FILM SYNOPSIS

Filmmaker Eddie Bailey makes his directorial debut with Memphis Majic to illustrate the critical importance of art in society. This film deftly juxtaposes the evolution of Jookin’ (a Memphis-born dance created by the city’s African-American youth) against the racially charged sociopolitical environment that engulfs the city and takes us on a journey through the lens of cultural revolution.

More

With its fluid rhythms and a raw narrative, Memphis Majic strives to encourage these young artists to build a brighter future for their city.
