Their light-hearted competition is set against a darker examination of the problem of waste. Even as Grant and Jen start to garner interest in their project, they struggle to find meaning in their minuscule influence on the large-scale environmental impacts of our “throwaway society.” The Clean Bin Project features laugh-out-loud moments, stop motion animations and unforgettable imagery. Grant is a multi-award-winning director and cinematographer based in Vancouver, Canada. His work can be seen and heard on the Knowledge Network, FX, TNT, CBC, National Film Board and ESPN.
Jenny is a writer and Leo Award-winning documentary producer with Peg Leg Films. She produced and was a subject in The Clean Bin Project and Just Eat It: A Food Waste Story which won 14 festival awards, was broadcast prime time on MSNBC and was listed in the New York Times “Top Ten TV Shows of 2015.”
