Staying safe during the time of the pandemic doesn’t mean fashionistas have to forgo style, thanks to the creation of one of New York’s top fabric-pleating experts, George Kalajian. George, featured recently in an episode of Scientology Network’s Meet a Scientologist, created the ultra-stylish, ultra-safe “Cheeky Mask.”
After a social media post showing a one-off mask he custom made for his wife, requests came pouring in for the very latest from the master craftsman.
“She posted a picture on her Facebook and wrote how she loved her mask because it highlighted her cheekbones. To my surprise, all her friends wanted one, too.”
It got him thinking that people might be more inclined to wear a safe mask if it exuded a sense of style. And the Cheeky Mask was born, becoming the latest innovation from this fifth-generation fabric and textile expert.
“We’ve been making beautiful masks with all our luxurious fabrics. They have three layers, because of the pleating, and also have a layer of filtration and cotton lining.”
With mask mandates still in effect across the US, the fashion trend that no one saw coming a short while ago has become the must-have fashion essential of the season.
