    FILM SYNOPSIS

Called “engaging and inspiring” by The Boston Globe, this award-winning documentary presents a model for how people can come together for the greater good.

    More

Sea turtles everywhere are in trouble and dedicated people living along the eastern seaboard, Gulf states and Mexico are working collaboratively to prevent their extinction. Over the last decade, the number of stranded sea turtles has steadily increased, but the late autumn of 2014 saw an unprecedented event as more than 1,200 cold-stunned (hypothermic) sea turtles washed ashore. This massive wildlife emergency marshaled an inspiring response within and beyond Massachusetts that reached from individuals to the United States Coast Guard, involving over 10 states and 21 institutions. It even showcases “the largest airlift of an endangered species probably anywhere in the United States, quite possibly the world.” The film is narrated by renowned marine biologist Dr. Sylvia Earle.

The film is available on DVD in the original 70-minute version at savingseaturtlesmovie.com.
